Parents’ Right to Know Act:
Overview
The Parents’ Right to Know Act (SB48/Act 2024-35) requires all public schools to post current
adopted curricula on school websites and that access to online curricula is available to students,
parents, or guardians of enrolled students. The content standards and curricula for Gadsden City
Schools align with the Alabama State Department of Education’s Courses of Study, the Alabama
Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP), and teh American College Test (ACT).
District-wide Curriculum Resources
Current curriculum materials that have been adopted by the Gadsden City Schools Board of
Education can be found in the links below. These materials are tools for instruction by the
teacher and learning by the student. Additionally, many of the district’s supplemental resources
are accessible via your student’s Gadsden City Schools’ device by using your student’s log-in
credentials. For further information regarding supplemental resources available in your student’s
classroom, you may contact your student’s classroom teacher and/or school principal.

Physical Inspection and Complaint Process
If you are a parent or guardian of a student enrolled in Gadsden City Schools and you wish to
physically inspect an instructional tool used in your child’s classroom, you may make a request
to your school’s principal.
If you wish to file a complaint against your child’s teacher under the Parents’ Right to Know Act,
you may complete the district’s complaint form using the link below and by emailing the
